TBAP Courtyard AP Academy
We are a primary Alternative Provision (AP) Academy based in Fulham.
The Courtyard AP Academy was judged as ‘Outstanding in all areas’ by Ofsted in March 2015. It is recognised as one of TBAP’s flagship provisions and Ofsted said, “pupils make excellent progress which reflects the high expectations that all adults have for the pupils”.
Our key objective is to ensure that all learners develop a ‘love for learning’ and the drive to ensure that every learner succeeds is well embedded in our practice.
The Courtyard AP Academy is characterised by high expectations and high achievement. Learner achievement is outstanding and in some cases, exceptional. Our aim is that every learner who attends makes accelerated progress during their time with us.
Fundamental to our success is the implementation of the ‘behaviour for learning framework’ where the emphasis is on learning rather than behaviour.
We have effective links with mainstream schools and we fully support the reintegration of learners into mainstream school.
We develop effective relationships with parents and strive to provide a personalised package of support and as a result create an ethos of mutual trust and respect.
Through outstanding leadership, teaching and behaviour for learning, we provide a safe and secure environment so that learners are engaged, motivated and encouraged to see themselves as successful.
Quote from a Year 6 learner: “I am now sanguine in all areas of my learning. I can now believe in myself. Thank you Courtyard”.

Hi, I am Connor Jarvis and I am six years old.
Connor - Year 2
I go to school at the Courtyard AP Academy. History is my other favourite subject and I have learned all about the great fire of London.
-
Hi, I am Karim South.
Karim - Year 6
My attendance at school this term is 95%. I feel really proud of this because last year I was much lower. Now I am at school more, I participate in more learning, actually, all my learning. That means when I do my assessments, I feel confident. -
Hello, I am Mason Buckley.
Mason - Year 5
My favourite part of school is maths and sometimes I help other children with their learning. -
Hello, I am Cairren.
Cairren - Year 5
The lessons are fun are nothing is boring. We have BMXing, circus skills, swimming and votes for school, this helps us to take risks in our learning. -
My name is Logan Wright and I am 10 years old. I attend the Courtyard part time and I spend most of the week at my mainstream school.
Logan - Year 6 -

Karim - Year 6 -
My behaviour for learning is excellent. My target is to have a positive opinion of myself and now I am more confident in my learning. When the teachers tell me that I’m amazing, super and awesome it makes me feel really proud of myself inside.
Connor - Year 2 -
In addition, something else that has improved is that I am able to listen attentively to adults and peers and this has helped me to make positive relationships.
Logan - Year 6 -
When I am older, I want to be a builder or a mechanic so I want to do my best at school to get a good job..
Mason - Year 5 -
When I first came to the Courtyard, it was because I found it hard in mainstream school because I didn’t get enough help. When I first came to the Courtyard, it was because I found it hard in mainstream school because I didn’t get enough help.
Connor - Year 2 -
My best piece of learning was my haunted house story in year 4 because of my handwriting and my wow words. I have made the most progress in literacy because before I came to the Courtyard, I didn’t really do any and now I can do it no problem!
Cairren - Year 5
